Storyteller Tom Woodruff

For the past fourteen years, Tom Woodruff has shared his knowledge and love for Michigan and the Great Lakes area with students and teachers in hundreds of schools, libraries and conferences throughout the region. Tom's Great Lakes Illustration Workshops engage students of all ages in challenging and fun 3-dimensional drawing and writing projects, while exploring the history and natural resources of their world. Through storytelling and easy step-by-step instructions, students become illustrators, turning words and ideas into pictures, each with their own unique style. Just wait until you see the drawings you and your friends create!

Since 1992 Tom has shared his Great Lakes Illustration Workshops with students from pre-K through college level, using art and storytelling to connect with history, science and natural science. His hands-on drawing workshops provide challenging, grade-level appropriate and curriculum based projects. They are also fun and yield great results.
