The Ada Historical Society is dedicated to ensure that present and future generations will not only know the significance of traditions of the area, but will learn from the past and recognize the need to preserve the historical heritage which has been bestowed upon them.

Ada Historical Society also endeavors to take permanent care of significant objects for the public good.

The Ada Historical Society and the Averill Historical Museum of Ada are located at 7144 Headley Street, Ada, MI 49301.

2010 Music on the Lawn Schedule

June 8-August 31, 2010, Music On the Lawn - Join us every Tuesday night this summer for a different musical treat. Music On the Lawn enjoys its 10th season this year with a wide variety of great performers. See the link on our homepage for the lineup. Tuesdays in Ada will be vibrant with great produce, flowers and food vendors at the Farmer's Market from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. In the evening, bring a lawnchair, family and friends and come enjoy the sounds of summer at Music On the Lawn. Most evenings begin at 7:00 pm.

June 18, 2010, Family Fun Night - A Storyteller, old-fashioned games and crafts are all on hand to help families celebrate the start of summer! Drop by from 6:30 to 8:30 pm to enjoy an experience for all ages.

July 3, 2010, Fourth of July Celebration - The Historical Society will participate in Ada Township"s annual 4th of July celebration. Find us at our tent on the Green, on a float in the parade and waiting to greet you for special Independence Day tours at the museum.

July 22-23, 2010, Grand River Expedition 2010 - The Historical Society will be present to welcome and support those on a journey of discovery! The Expedition is traveling from July 14-26 down the Grand River to document and raise awareness of and responsibility for the river. They will camp out that Thursday night at Chief Hazy Cloud Park along Pettis Ave. in Ada. Contact www.trailspotters.com for more information.
